About myself

Bryan Reeves has for twenty years been actively dealing in tribal art and adornment. Progressing from a market stall to a shop on Portobello Road and then to a London based gallery of 12 years , namely ‘Tribal Gathering London’. During this time he has been constantly refining his eye.
A mask with impact. A figure with form and presence. A functional item with defining shape and design. These are the qualities that he looks out for when choosing a piece. A piece with these qualities separates it from the ordinary.
The challenge to replace a piece with a more exciting piece gives him the energy and enthusiasm to keep travelling and sourcing. Combining group exhibitions [‘Form and function in Ethiopian furniture’, ‘Soil and Sole – African pots’, ‘Modernism in Tribal Forms’ to name a few] together with staging joint annual shows in London and aboard, provide him with the platform to assemble and showcase recent acquisitions.
HE also deals privately and displays pieces in the new Notting Hill gallery www.numberonegathering.com
